FAQs

  • Check in is from 4pm onwards. Check out is by 10am. Charges may apply in the case of late check-out.

We do sometimes offer late checkout as an option when you make your booking – see if you’re offered it on our website.

We get lots of requests for early check in and late check out – we’re a small operation and on some days our team have only 5 hours to turn around 12 rooms, so PLEASE be understanding if we can’t accommodate your request!

  • We’re proud to accept well behaved dogs in our Garden Rooms and in the public areas of The Rodney (except the main restaurant area). There is an additional charge of £15 per stay per dog for overnight doggie guests. See here

A complimentary water bowl and dogs biscuits are available in the bar.

  • The cancellation policy requires all amendments and cancellations to be finalised by 12 noon 3 days prior to the booked arrival date.

Any changes following this time will result in a 100% room charge being applied to your credit card.

We advise to take out holiday insurance if you wish to be protected against cancellation charges incurred if you have to cancel a reservation for any reason (including Covid 19) after the cancellation deadline shown above.

  • King and Double rooms in the Rodney building itself are part of the original, centuries-old structure of the inn. Our Garden Rooms were constructed in 2019 and are more modern.

Garden Rooms have the advantage of opening straight into the grounds of the inn - great for dog owners (but less fun on a wet morning!).

  • King Rooms are in the main building, at the front overlooking the gardena and the surrounding countryside. As the name suggests they contain a king bed and are nice and spacious, with an armchair for comfort.

Our Double rooms can be on the small side. They have a double bed and, while perfectly fine for a night’s sleep, aren’t really roomy enough to relax in during the day.

  • We operate a strict no-smoking policy throughout the interior of the Rodney and inside our rooms. We make a charge of £100 for cleaning rooms where the no-smoking policy has been violated.

  • We have free Wi-Fi available throughout the Rodney and in our rooms. Mobile reception is a different matter – you will struggle to get a signal in most of the property. Make the most of the peace and quiet!

  • Of course. As long as we have a credit card number on file, you can charge all your meals and drinks to your room and settle up when you check out.

If you’ve booking with a booking site (Expedia, AirBnB etc) then we’ll need to take your card details as these are not shared with us by the booking site.

  • Breakfast is our favourite meal! It’s served from 0830 to 0930 in our main dining room. This will mean coming over to the main inn building if you’re staying in a Garden Room.

If you need an earlier breakfast then please speak to the team. They may be able to arrange a take-away continental breakfast.

  • For safety and hygiene reasons we cannot supply cots for infants. However you are welcome to bring your own travel cot with you, and you should have enough room in all of our rooms apart from our double rooms in the Rodney itself, which are too small to accommodate a travel cot.

  • You can read our full terms and conditions for booking here.

These Terms & Conditions form a binding contract between you and us once you’ve made a booking, so it’s important that you understand them.

Please contact us should you have any questions.

  • Yes, you can. We offer vouchers either for a monetary amount or for a specified number of nights’ accommodation. They can be used at any time of year. You can buy a voucher here or please contact us and we will process this for you.

  • If your voucher doesn’t cover the full cost of your stay then please make a booking as normal and pay the deposit asked of you. Just put a note of the voucher codes that you are looking to redeem in the comments section of your booking form and we’ll take care of the rest.

Alternatively just contact us to make a booking using a voucher.

  • All our accommodation offers either double or king sized beds and is suitable for 2 or more guests. For this reason we don’t offer a single occupancy rate. If you’re booking for a large group and want to occupy a number of rooms for single occupancy then contact us and we’ll see if we’re able to offer a discount.

  • Of course. We do offer the facility to book all 12 of our rooms but you’ll need to book well in advance because we get pretty booked-up a year or so ahead! We can also offer you and your guests exclusive use of the function Room or even of the whole of our restaurant.
